Hajni Fiszter Psychotherapy services
Offering two decades of experience in non-judgemental relational support and supervision
As a psychotherapist I offer more than 20 years of experience in working with couples and individuals, and provide supervision for qualifying and seasoned therapists. I work from an anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, somatic, and client-centered perspective, and I endeavor to meet and respect the unique experiences, goals and needs of my clients. My role as your therapist is to act as your non-judgemental ally, help in sorting out your thoughts and feelings, to face the challenges of life, improve your relationships to self and others, to make the changes that you desire, and become the best version of yourself.
My Services
Relational/ Couples Therapy
My work with couples welcomes traditional and non-traditional relationships. I enjoy working with intercultural partnerships, immigrants, those from the LGBTQIA+ communities and couples that include members that identify as neurodivergent.
Together we can build more effective communication skills, navigate rupture, strengthen emotional connection, and cultivate more positive relational interactions.
More sexual satisfaction, feeling happier in your relationship, and fostering a lasting friendship with your partner are all achievable goals when we work together.
Supervision
I offer decades of practice helping experienced and Qualifying Psychotherapists and Social Workers. My approach is rooted in reflective practice and the integrative developmental model to amplify your capacity for empathy, critical thinking, honing your intervention skills, assessment techniques, case conceptualization, and awareness of countertransference.
You can access my services virtually or in-person in Toronto, Canada
About me
For the past 20 years I’ve been practicing psychotherapy and have experience working with LGBTQ+ people, refugees, couples and in supervising qualifying and experienced psychotherapists. What brought me to the practice was a passion for supporting people in facing the challenges of modern life, and also contributing to a mental-health system that centres the people’s wellbeing.
When I was 18 years old, living in Hungary, I attended a theatre piece about Sigmund Freud, and how he was trying to change the medical system with his burgeoning approach to talk therapy. This piece inspired me to become a therapist and I decided to pursue my studies in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in Mexico city. My trajectory through my studies led me to do a masters in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, and, when I realised that that field no longer felt values-aligned, I moved on to complete a Masters in Counselling Psychology at the University of Toronto/ OISE in 2005. Other modalities that I’ve trained in include:
Cognitive Behavioural therapy
Schema therapy
Gottman Therapy
My experience as an immigrant has deeply informed my approach to therapy, and I’ve worked hard to support refugee and immigrant communities. The empathy that I cultivate through my work and life experience extends into my psychotherapy practice and I endeavour to support people from diverse backgrounds in their journey to living an authentic and fulfilling life.
I speak English, Spanish and Hungarian
